As in the first and second posts I continue to pay tribute to my father, gone from us in 2019. This time, instead of taking a picture on his old equipment, I actually looked through his vast hard drive archive of photos and found this raw file, unprocessed. I straightened it, adjusted the color until I thought it looked nice, and adjusted shadows and highlights until I was happy. I also managed to salvage his original watermark.
For the curious this is the bridge in Cairo, Illinois that crosses the Mississippi River and over the Missouri border, pointing west. I know this because it took several tries to get the shot and I uncovered an earlier frame that had a clear view of the GPS screen. This was shot on the date of June 23, 2012 at 2:01pm US Central Time.
Happy Father’s Day, rest in peace, and shoot photos, not each other.
