Mount Vernon

In the late 1990’s I visited Mount Vernon, the property owned by America’s first President George Washington. This was shot on Kodak Gold 800 film. Yes, 800! They made film that fast back then, and as you see, there’s a reason why they no longer do. You get light sensitivity, but pay the price with graininess and dreadful color. That generally does not look good when you’re out in the sun. I was in my 20’s. People do stupid things in their 20’s. Modern digital cameras will try desperately to use an ISO rating of 200 or less in these same conditions.

I like the composition, though. The young me has a pretty good eye. Shoot photos, not each other!
