As seen in my last post, this is the debut of the new (to me) Nikon D610.
Some might say this is the first “full frame” picture I’ve ever taken. I have shot hundreds of feet of 35mm film in my life, so that’s not really true. First “full frame” digital photo though? That is indeed correct.
I pass by this mural all the time making lunch runs for my wife and I working remotely during the week. It’s painted on the side of a liquor store next door to the Wendy’s that I frequent. As of now, it’s a former liquor store. It’s now closed and being actively remodeled, soon to become a new yoga studio.
To really put this camera to the test, I used one of high-end Nikon lenses, in this case a 50mm f1.4 Nikon prime lens. The thing that amazes me most is the color. I did very, very little to this picture in editing. Yet, the color is very bright. You can see the details of the bricks. I am amazed by the sharpness. You can see more of my review of the camera in the link, but this mural just really struck me. At least, it sure beats drab gray brick with posters advertising sales on vodka.
Shoot photos, not each other!
